Artist's Comments

A digital collage based on George Orwell's Nineteen Eighty-Four. Winston was drawn by hand, based on John Hurt's portrayal in the film, scanned in and coloured, and laid against a background of quotes from the book. The pencil drawing for Winston can be viewed here.

Pen and ink, everything else in Photoshop.

Thank-you, I read the book again recently and had forgotten just how great it was. I've tried a slightly different style of drawing to usual, not sure how well I it came off ...

OMG, man, this is TEH LOVE!!! Definitely a FAVE :D! I love your unique take on Winston and 1984 ;)! Excellent work :)! I also checked the pencilled version and I like that too ;)! This definitely has to be one of the best 1984 artworks i've ever seen! Thanks for sharing it here on DA :D!
